March '14: The spirit of home

Figure 1: Bird's home.
I used to think that I will never ever grow up and leave home. That I will always stay the same and enjoy myself as a kid. Everyday will be happy with my family and the rainbow of joy will never fade away. But that is all a kid's fantasy and in time, I didn't even have a small part of that little kid who used to be almost happy all the time.

There will come a time, when we who used to be kids, grow up and leave home. It takes time for the feeling of wanting to be home to fade away and for some people it really takes a challenge as home is where the heart is. It is also tough for me, but I crushed the feeling in my heart and moved on.

Home is warm and for me it will always be, I will always long for home, and soon I will have a home of my own with my family. I wanted to create a home where everyone living under the shelter feels the same way as I used to feel when I was a kid. That I will work hard for.

Reminiscing 2013: Back to Labuan

After studying and being away from the island for quite sometime, I have never thought of returning back to the place where I grew up and spend my childhood life. The Pearl of the South China Sea is where my family grew and there are tons of memories. Friends, family and the good times and bad times.

Figure 1: The clock tower.
I got a job at the place where my dad used to work, and I felt so blessed for the opportunity to work there. Thus working and living in Labuan is one of the significant event that has happened in my life for the past year 2013. The clock tower wasn't there when I was growing up, but when I came, there it is.

Be blessed everyone.

Weekend

I was down with the sickness these few days, it started on Thursday, guess the air and ever changing weather has something to do with it. I first caught sore-throat, which I remedied with warm drinks and lots of water. I even made myself some lime drink, which was very sour to my taste due to no sugar.
Figure 1: Broccoli, my favorite vegetable.
On Friday, my sore-throat miraculously cured and I was over-joyed when my tongue started to feel food again, however during the afternoon, suddenly my nose starts to itch and I can't stop sneezing till my nose got red. Even my vision felt so fuzzy and I couldn't concentrate doing my work.

The severity of the sickness escalated on Saturday, I rested more than 8 hours, if I don't I know the running nose wouldn't stop and I will be suffering more. So I forced myself to rest and when I woke up, I find myself feeling slightly better, with fever and heavy headed.

Sunday morning, I still felt groggy. The night before, I drank a glass of  water mixed with a spoon of activated charcoal, which I believe will cleanse my body. I rested half of the day, and on the evening I eventually felt better and am ready for the new week of work.

Through out the whole ordeal I didn't want to show any weaknesses and continued to do my work. I felt that I need to be strong despite the sickness inside of me or if any strong challenges I face. I know I will prevail with prayer and trust in God.

Touchdown

Finally, my short break alone ended, it was intended to be alone but I met up with various people who are also alone and out of the blue sparked out some conversations with them, even though we started as total strangers, I don't mind that deep conversation and sharing my experiences especially.

When I talk to someone I am comfortable with, my eye contact will be great and my expressions will come out as natural, no forced out expressions and tones which I normally convey during work. My mind is focused on such conversation when I am in my comfort zone.

However during work, my mind is focusing on a few things which makes the communication quite shaped up. Especially with the workload as well as the confusion created by chaotic people I get tense with my tone, and I don't like it as it stresses me to release it.

When I am away from work, I get so relaxed and occasionally laze out that I finally felt free and happy just for this short amount of time. I don't mind being alone as I gather myself together and focus on what's important in life.

As I scanned through the greenery, I noticed this small bunch of flowers which colors I really liked, soft and pleasing to the eyes, these colors would really make a beautiful gift for a sweet lady. I stared at these pale indigo colors for quite some time and it relaxes me.

A quote from that beautiful stranger I met,

"Our life can be simple if we wanted it to be, it can be complicated if we wanted it to be, I'll just be as humble as I can be so that no matter what I lose or gain in this world won't make me regret decisions I made in life."

Being alone has its credits too and I earned mine in these few days of rest away from urbanization. I am back home and ready for work.

Homeland

Finally, I'm back to my homeland, faraway from work and business, I felt the urge to work now that I'm on holidays, nothing much has changed, but I've changed, maybe just a bit physically. Still loving my cartoons, books, collectibles and being around kids, so mentally not changed at all. Just some simple words and ending this post with a quote.

"God is taking care of you, even when it seems like your all alone; believe me, God is working hard behind the scenes of your life."

Figure 1: Fairy Tail.
Heart, stay strong cause life is full of challenges, every step of the way, God will be my guide.
